Applied GCSE courses are brand new courses beginning in September 2002. They replace the old GNVQ Part One courses. They are the equivalent of TWO GCSEs, and are sometimes called "DOUBLE AWARDS". |

They are different from other GCSEs because they are vocational
qualifications. This means that they are designed to help you learn about
things that will help you when you start work. Applied courses are split into 3 units. For two of the units you will have to
complete a number of assignments, whilst the third unit will require you to do
an exam. Details of the Applied Business course are given
below. |
