Applied GCSE courses are brand new courses beginning in September 2002.  They replace the old GNVQ Part One courses.  They are the equivalent of TWO GCSEs, and are sometimes called "DOUBLE AWARDS".

They are different from other GCSEs because they are vocational qualifications.  This means that they are designed to help you learn about things that will help you when you start work.

Applied courses are split into 3 units.  For two of the units you will have to complete a number of assignments, whilst the third unit will require you to do an exam.  Details of the Applied Business course are given below.

The three units you must complete for this course are:

Unit 1: Investigating Business (Portfolio Assessed)

Unit 2: People & Business (Portfolio Assessed)

Unit 3: Business Finance (Examined)

You can find further information about these units in the Student Guide, or the Subject Specifications link on the right, or by using the link to the Edexcel website.
